Who We Are

Ford County Fire & EMS provides fire protection for Ford County, Kansas excluding the cities of Dodge City, Bucklin, and Spearville. With 18 pieces of fire apparatus located at six stations throughout the county, we employ over sixty full and part time firefighters. In 2006 we responded to 224 fire calls.

Our EMS service covers all of Ford County, including all cities. We have both BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) services. With six ambulances and 62 First Responders, EMT-Bs, EMT-Is, and MICTs we responded to over 2,300 calls in 2006.

We provide rescue services to all of Ford County excluding Dodge City. Rescue services include vehicle extrication, high and low angle rescue, confined space rescue, and water rescue. FCFD operates a heavy duty rescue truck out of Station 1 (Dodge City) and a light duty rescue truck out of Station 4 (Bucklin). There were 79 rescue responses in 2006.
